House Somian is located at the southeast of the Pekrska hills (Pekrskih goric). The center of Maribor is only 4 miles away. South of the picturesque vineyard ascends forest grew Pohorje hills is 3760 feet high. In view of the numerous finds of ancient Roman coins, this piece of Slovenian land can boast of perhaps two millennia long tradition of wine making. Surely, the viticulture and winemaking started working here in the 12th century by Šentpavel monks. Benedictine prioriat is still the local wineyard owner.
