House Somian
House Somian is located at the southeast of the Pekrska hills (Pekrskih goric). The center of Maribor is only 4 miles away. South of the picturesque vineyard ascends forest grew Pohorje hills is 3760 feet high. Entrapment between the mountain and the valley through which the river Drava winds, wine Somian creates superior quality and distinctive noble style.

In view of the numerous finds of ancient Roman coins, this piece of Slovenian land can boast of perhaps two millennia long tradition of wine making. Surely, the viticulture and winemaking started working here in the 12th century by Šentpavel monks. Benedictine prioriat is still the local wineyard owner.

About the centuries socializing with vines and wine, among other witness archival document of 19 February in the year 1444, which reads as follows: „Dorothy, widow of Maribor citizen Paul, sold Maribor smith Wolfgang vineyard in Pekre in Maribor.“
